In this tutorial you will learn how to draw a rose which is just about to fully bloom. This flower is generally referred as a symbol of romance and they are extremely beautiful and soft. Here you will learn how to draw a simple rose using pencil.
I have used simple drawing pencils with specification of B & HB. The length of the Video tutorial is 9:48 Minutes and you either go through the step by step lesson using image shown below or can go through the Video tutorials and may pause, rewind an learn the lesson.
Step 1: You are going to draw a rose which is about to bloom. Draw the first petal as shown below.
Step 2: On the right side of the first petal draw another curve to the right. While drawing you will draw the first visible part then the next visible part which is behind so this creates a layered effect.
Step 3:Draw few more lines on the top of the initial two petals.
Step 4: At the bottom part you need to draw three tiny leaves which supports the rose as shown in the drawing below.
Step 5:After drawing the three leaves draw two lines which is the stem which supports the rose.
Step 6:In the middle of the stem draw two lines where we will be shortly drawing the rose leaf.
Step 7:On the line what we just drew now, on the right side you can draw the leaf as shown below.
Step 8:Draw similar leaf on the left side of the line which should be as below.
Step 9:Now you can start shading the rose. You need to remember that in this drawing I have assumed the light is falling from the right side, so the left side should be slightly darker. Also, wherever the petals are overlapping there should be dark shades as shown below:
Step 10: Shade the petal on the left side as shown below leave a tiny space between the line which gives a nice light effect as shown in the drawing below.
Step 11:Shade on the top of the drawing, but always remember that when the light is from the right side, the left side will be darker.
Step 12:The next step is to shade the stem as shown below.
Step 13: You can now shade the right side leaf, do not darken it too much.
